Gypsy market Heraklion
The gipsy market in Iraklion proudly attracts a large number of visitors and tourists as well. The traders are making use of both their vocal and selling skills to seduce their clients. Some time ago the market was in the harbour, now it is near the stadium and it is open on Saturdays only.

Anogia
The inhabitants of Anogia live mainly on the goat and sheep breeding and tourism. In August 1944 the Germans razed the village to the ground and all the men were executed.
Fodele
Fodele is a very attractive tourist village with friendly and hospitable inhabitants who welcome everybody to see their small shops displaying colourful carpets and other crochet-works. As Fodele is also believed to have been the birthplace of the most famous of Cretans El- Greco, you also can visit the small museum. 

Pano Gouves
Pano Gouves is actually the old part of the well-known tourist village of Gouves and lies about 5km south of the National Road. It is a typical Greek village where the locals seem to have enough time to enjoy talking to each other and the visitors.
